Pole Dance Community

The Pole Dance Community is an advisory body, we are here to support professional pole dance schools as well as to offer help and support to students and instructors. Within the last few years pole dancing has really started to take off as a mainstream fitness activity, there has been a huge growth in the number of pole dance schools and whilst we have welcomed the growth we have become concerned about the number of schools teaching inappropriately.

We found one lady teaching with 8-10 people per pole in her living room, the students complained that not only was there not much room around the pole but that they rarely got to actually use the pole and were not properly instructed, instead they were shown a YouTube video and told to get on with it!

Our most recent case involved a school where students were told not to invert on the pole as it was broken and may fall over. Unfortunately these stories are just a few of many!

As the industry does grow more people will try to exploit it so we need to work together as a team to protect our passion and to reward those who are working hard to make the industry a safe and friendly place. To find out more just visit
